After about 12 years I returned to Bogotá, I must admit, I did not remember anything, everything was new to me, the smells, the cold so particular, (I do not know, but the cold of Bogota I did not feel it anywhere else), the chaos from day to day, everything caught my attention. When you get to El Dorado Airport, there are several transportation options, such as Taxi, Uber service, or if you want to save a little more money, a Transmilenio station (integrated city transportation system), for which we must buy a card, which has a cost of two thousand pesos (less than one dollar), plus the ticket that costs approximately two thousand dollars, it is important that only one card is paid for that card and recharged each time we want to use the service, for experience, if you take it from the airport to the candelaría the most touristic place in the city, it is better if you do not carry a lot of luggage, since it is usually full. Arriving at the Candelaría, a place that everyone recommends (at that moment I understood why), we started the search of our hostel, which I will recommend next, since the attention was perfect, and then we discovered that they have venues in other cities like Santa Marta.
La Candelaria is the historic center of the city, which is close to the hill of Monserrate, another inperseable place, in the city, because when you go up we can have a real postcard of the city of Bogotá is simply Magical. The colonial streets, the Quevedo stream, and the environmental axis, make the candelaria, the warmest and most cultural place in the cold Bogota, walk along the seventh street, visit museums such as the Gold Museum, which I found very economical , only 4 thousand pesos, (1.5 dollars), see the colpatria tower in the distance, eat ajiaco in a restaurant near the Plaza de Bolivar, and have a beer at night in La Candelaria made me fall in love with Bogota.
Recommendations:
1. depending on the time of year, Bogotá can be a very rainy and cold city, so it is better to investigate the weather conditions of the place and go prepared with comfortable shoes and umbrellas.
2. The Transmilenio can be a little complicated for foreigners, but not inposible to use, (I do not recommend using it during peak hours, since it can be unfortunately dangerous, without counting the fullness). 3. There are different companies that offer excellent tourist services, such as guided tours and bike rides to the city (below I will leave your information).
4. The places around the city are simply magical and must-see, such as La Chorrera (the largest waterfall in the country), El Salto del Tequendama, Jaime Duque Park, among others that I will specify later. 4. The rumba in the city is great, places like Teatron are a must.
5. The ajiaco that they sell in many restaurants in La Candelaria are a HIT.

Hostels:
Fatima Hostels: it was my home for 3 days, I can only give good recommendations, the rooms are perfect, very comfortable and warm to withstand the cold capital, they have two headquarters, since usually the main one is full all the time, however Both are perfect and they offer you a Welcome Cocktail which you take in the Hostel's Bar Restaurant which is one of the most popular places in La Candelaria. Fatima Hostel is located at Calle 12 c # 2-24, La Candelaria - Historic Center, 0000 Bogotá, Colombia. You can find a bed from 27,000 COP (9 dollars), which includes breakfast
The Cranky Croc Hostel: A bit more expensive than Fatima, but incredible without a doubt, also located in the Candelaria, is on the list of my favorites. for 36,000 COP (12 dollars), you can get a bed in a shared room with 6 people and breakfast. 12d Street No. 3-46, La Candelaria.
